Johanna is a Buffalo native, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University at Buffalo. She holds a master’s degree in History and a Law Degree from the University at Buffalo Law School, where she served as an editor of the Buffalo Law Review. She has extensive working experience in several Buffalo law firms including Hodgson Russ LLP, and Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf Cunningham LLC and the Coppola Firm. She also worked for eighteen years at UB as a Professor of Legal Analysis Writing, and Research, training hundreds of law students in the intricacies of legal drafting.
Firmly rooted in this legal community, Johanna is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the National Association of Women Business Owners. She is a former board member of Ethica, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the legal rights of all members of the adoption trial.
